José Luis Leones Salvatierra lives in Ecuador.

At thirty years old, he and his wife have a seven year old disabled daughter who cannot hear or speak. Jose works fifty hours a week in his small cabinetmaking shop. José is a hard worker and has kept his shop running for seven years. Money and resources are not easy to come by though and José needed to purchase more wood, paint and other materials for his work.

Last fall a community of young adults, not so different from José, gave of their finances sacrificially. A portion of that money was given in a loan to José who through wisdom and good stewardship has already repaid 25%. Forward, your generosity is proclaiming to José, his family and his community, a Gospel that changes lives for eternity.

“He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” Proverbs 14:31
